In the Socialist International

In September 1996, the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun rejoined the Socialist International, which it had originally joined in 1907. In 2003, the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun became a full member of the Socialist International, thus becoming the only party in the CIS with such a status.

During the XXIII Congress of the Socialist International, June 2008 in Athens, ARF-D representative Maria Titizian was elected vice-president of the organization.

The SI Council in Mexico, November 2008, elected ARF-D Bureau member Mario Nalpatian as co-chair of the SI Committee for the CIS, the Caucasus and the Black Sea.

In September 2012 at the XXIV Congress that was convened in Cape Town, ARF-D Bureau member Mario Nalpatian was elected SI Vice-President.

At the SI Council meeting in Cascais, in 2013, ARF-D Bureau member Vahan Hovhannesyan was elected Co-chairman of the Committee for the CIS the Caucasus and the Black Sea, a position previously held by Nalpatian. For the first time, ARF-D was also elected member of the Statutory Committee on Finance and Administration.

Armen Rustamyan (ARF-D Bureau) took over the Committee’s co-chairmanship after Vahan Hovhannesyan was named ambassador of Armenia to Germany.

On February 2016, at the IUSY World Congress, AYF member Garabed Chadoian was elected Vice-President of the organization, with the Black Sea being his area of jurisdiction.

The ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Women’s Group is a member of the SIW (Socialist International Women).

The youth organization of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, the Armenian Youth Federation, is a full member of the IUSY (International Union of Socialist Youth), and of YES (Young European Socialists, former European Community Organization of Socialist Youth – ECOSY).
