On November 3, the 12th session of the Armenia-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee took place with the participation of the Youth Parliament’s representatives. The participants praised the role of the Youth Parliament in addressing and resolving issues. When asked by the secretary of the committee about the present problems and concerns that the youth in Armenia faces, Youth Parliament’s ARF-D Faction’s secretary Azatuhi Simonyan said that the most serious is the social injustice and inequality that in their turn create other problems. Simonyan said that the resolution of these problems is the ruling party’s responsibility, which makes people think about the elections procedure. This is why the ARF-D and its Youth Organization initiated the founding of the “Vote is power” public movement whose purpose is to defend people’s electoral right and educate the public on the possibilities that come with exercising this right. Referring to the Youth Parliament Simonyan underlined that the problems, if any, are mainly of a structural nature and are resolved through dialogue in a healthy environment of mutual understanding and cooperation where suggestions are made in the direction of resolving the problems that the youth of Armenia faces.
