Arakelyan: Armenia’s Borderline Territories Should Not Be Merchantable

During the parliamentary discussions about Armenia’s land law amendments ARF-D Member of Parliament Ruzan Arakelyan referred to the granting of lands given to foreign diplomats based on the reciprocity principle and suggested that the new law should reinforce the non-granting of territories near the borderline. Arakelyan, reminded that all of Armenia’s neighbor countries have set restrictions as far as the borderline territories granting is concerned meaning that trade of that lands is prohibited. She also said that Turkey could potentially take advantage of the reciprocity principle and buy lands that are of national security value.
