ARF-D, On Commodities Not Subject To Excise Tax

Tert.am reports that ARF-D Parliamentary Faction members, Artzvik Minasyan, Aghvan Vardanyan and Armen Babayan have put into circulation a draft law “On the Approval of List of Products imported by organizations and individual entrepreneurs eligible for zero (0) rate customs duty and excise duty exemption, for which the customs service does not calculate or charge value added tax”. ARF-D proposes to also add on that list grapes, types of fertile trees, bushes and shrubs. The party argues that in the agricultural market, there is a difficulty in purchasing certain roots, seeds and plants particularly the imported ones, because of their high price. This has its negative effect on the sector’s exporting capacity and competitiveness. The customs duty and VAT taxes that are imposed on those roots, seeds and plants, eventually lead to the palpable increase of their purchasing price.
ARF-D MPs also propose to add sowing corn and bean on the abovementioned list.
