On January 30, the ARF-D Supreme Council held an extended meeting with representatives from the ARF-D Armenia organization’s 50 committees and 10 district committees at the party’s Aram Manukyan premises in Yerevan.
In his opening remarks, ARF-D Supreme Council of Armenia representative Aghvan Vardanyan briefed the participants on the political developments in the country, the agenda and the priorities, as well as the party’s political role in this context.
ARF-D Bureau representative Hrant Margaryan gave a detailed presentation of the recent political developments in the country and spoke about the ARF-D’s role in the social, political and economic life. He also noted that there is a positive turn regarding the ARF-D’s proposed seven-point platform. The ARF-D Bureau representative also spoke about the expectations and the form of a possible cooperation with the ruling party.
Margaryan caracterized the adoption of the new Constitution a political achievement wherein ARF-D’s core principles and approaches on the country’s governing model as well as on important political matters are reflected. Margaryan also highlighted the role and the responsibility of the party in coping with the social, economic and geopolitical challenges of the country following the referendum on the Constitution, that took place in December 2015.
The participants exchanged views on the above mentioned issues as well as on organizational matters. It was agreed to occasionally hold further meetings in order to elaborate on the political and partisan agenda.
